Welcome to The Hive...

We are Located in the centre of Aberaeron, with stunning views over the river Aeron and harbour, our aim is to serve what people like best, our homely food, sourced locally where possible.

The Hive, recently taken over by the Davies family are opening a trendy Cafe Bar and Ice Cream Parlour overlooking the picturesque harbour of Aberaeron.

Owners Rhys & Rhodri run the successful Ice Cream Parlour, Cafe, Licensed Restaurant serving fantastic home made food. The Restaurant complex is situated in a historic converted wharf in Aberaeron, West Wales.

The single storey stone building you enter may look like an Ice Cream Parlour from the outside, but there is serious eating to be enjoyed here, By the fire in the whitewashed café or in the spacious conservatory and outside in the courtyard, overlooking the harbour.

The Hive ice-cream

The Hive has been the home of Hive Honey Ice Cream for 40 years, now widely known for its unique flavour and quality. It is sold in chocolate, coffee, passionfruit, hazelnut, vanilla and strawberry cornets, waffle cones, tubs and packs to take away. The selection changes daily; melon and ginger, mango, raspberry, gooseberry and elderflower and many other delicious flavours. In 2001, we started making a Soya ice cream in chocolate and fruit flavours for diabetics and those avoiding dairy products. Honey Yoghurt Ices such as coconut, banana, passionfruit or pistachio are always on offer - a very low fat alternative to Honey Ice Cream and particularly refreshing.

"The Hive Honey Ice Cream" have been producing their renowned honey-sweetened ice cream for thirty five years, and where better to enjoy it than at their seaside café overlooking the quay at Aberaeron.(Jenni Muir, 'The 50 Best Ice Creams for 2002', The Independent)

In 2005 our Orange and Honey Yoghurt Ice won a Bronze from Taste of Wales Food and Drink Awards - the judges said, "Simply the best yoghurt ice cream we've ever tasted. Fabulous - has lightness and sharpness, the flavours come zinging through."
