The Falcondale hotel and 2AA rosette restaurant (awarded for 5 consecutive years) located near the University town of Lampeter, now known as Univeristy of Wales Trinity Saint David. Only 30 minutes from the coastal villages of Cardigan Bay and hilly, marshy regions of the Cambrian Mountains. A wealth of walking, cycling, fishing in the Teifi River, and open gardens are within easy reach of this central location in Mid Wales.

A stay at The Falcondale is relaxing, even after a day of walking the Brecon Beacons or marshland of Cors Caron. Why not visit the local National Trust Properties before sinking into a warm, comfy sofa in the lounge with a glass, or two, of wine from the extensive list. Follow this with lunch or dinner prepared by Mike Green's team using only the best of ingredients from Ceredigion, Carmarthen and surrounding counties in Mid and South Wales.

An ideal venue for weddings, business meetings and small conferences exclusive use is also available.

The Falcondale was built and designed as a private house in 1859, which means that all of our elegant and luxurious rooms do vary in size, shape and outlook. This makes classification (in traditional hotel terms) a little more difficult. However, they have been grouped as best, better, standard and small. Each page will give you a little more information on the rooms and the best option for you.

All rooms are furnished to a high standard and vary in colour, décor and ambience. You can curl-up in the Egyptian cotton bed linen with a pot of tea or a cafetiere of coffee in front of a flat screen TV watching a DVD from the hotel's own library. Or luxuriate in the bath with complimentary amenities before drying off with warm fluffy towels and cuddling into a Falcondale bathrobe.

Dining at the Falcondale offers serious and stylish luxury without pretention. A relaxed award-winning restaurant offering the best of seasonal local produce with a well stocked wine list to compliment.

The restaurant has been awarded 2AA rosettes for 5 years running and has a reputation for excellence with food lovers who return to savour the inspiring menus and use of local produce. Low food miles are an integral and important feature of the menus including herbs and salad greens from our own kitchen garden.

Lampeter and the county of Ceredigion offers a rich larder, providing lobster, crab, sea bass, sewin, Welsh black beef and Welsh lamb. With neighbouring Carmarthenshire providing us with speciality cheeses and excellent cured ham.

Lunches and dinners will be served in either the Valley or Peterwells restaurant. Both offer views overlooking the Teifi valley towards Lampeter. Although we do not take bookings in the conservatory or terrace, you are very welcome to eat in either area (if available) on your arrival to The Falcondale.
